The jubilee exhibition of Fedor Mihailovich Matveev (1758-1826), one of the ancestors of Russian landscape school, will be the firs monographic exhibition of the artist. After the graduation of the Academy of fine arts in 1779, Marveev was send to Italy to develop his skills. He lived most of his live Italy. Works by Matveev shows charm of south nature, appearance of famous antique and medieval Italian buildings – Forum of Rome and Coliseum,, waterfall in Tivoly, outskirts of Naples, seashores of Sicily. The exposition will show for about 80 paintings and graphical works from the Tretyakov Gallery, and the other museums of Russia, Belarus, and private collections. The broad educational program includes multimedia part of the exhibition, excursions for the children and grownups, quiz on the web-side of the gallery.
