State Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val, 10, halls ¹ 21 - 22

Monographic exhibition of one of the greatest Russian sculptors of 1/2 XX-th centuries, whose heritage it is presented in Tretyakov gallery with the maximum completeness.

Boris Korolev (1885 - 1963) is one of the representative of the Moscow school of plastic art. He persisted in his opinion on the freedom of art. Belonging to avant-gardists, actively participated in realisations of the Plan of monumental propagation. Bakunin's monument (1918 - 1919) in the spirit of Cubo-Futurism became the first monument destroyed because of its formal-stylistic reasons.

Boris Korolev was one if the founders of the society "Zhivskulptarh"; (Painting, sclulpture, architecture, 1926 - 1931) supporting synthesis of arts. He also took part in the organization of the Society of Russian sculptors. He left Inhuk (Institute of culture) because of disagreement with the doctrine of "industrial art", from the middle of 1920th years has addressed to traditions of a realistic plasticity. It is exhibited about 30 graphic sheets and 20 sculptural compositions executed in different materials and stylistics, from collection of Tretetyakov Gallery.
